Hey everyone hope your summer was a fun and relaxing one. Mine was a bit busy with moving my son Billy from Miami to Orlando and getting my daughter Kami back to school at FSU. I know I know all of you are gator fans but in this household are true FSU fans through and through. Les and all his brothers went to FSU and Kami is keeping the Tradition alive. She is in her senior year there and loving every minute of it. It Doesn’t hurt that the love of her life is there also. We love Herman too. He is a great person and we consider him part of the family.
We are now back to being empty nesters and boy is the house awful quite. I should be able to get some things done that I have wanted to do for a long time. Wish me luck.
I’m very excited to be going to a retreat in Dillard, Georgia September 10 – 13 with Sandi from the shop. It’s is my very first retreat I can hardly stand the waiting for our departure. Looking forward to all the good food I will be eating and learning some new things that I can bring back for all of you. I will take lots of pictures and share them with you.
I have tried to pack September full of classes. Some are repeats and we also have a few new ones. Please remember if you might have any suggestions of classes you want me to offer I would love to hear from you. Feel free to email them to me. Quick Trip Around the World
50$ includes Dinner
Supplies Needed: First of all you will need the book. These can be purchased at JoAnns using a coupon or on Amazon.com for about 16$ with shipping on the new and used section. One of my students just purchased it on the Amazon site. We will be doing the Lap size version for class purposes. So you will need 1/2 yard of 9 coordinating fabrics. You can use the book as a guide in placement. you will also need 1/2 yard each for inner border and binding. Also 1-1/4 yard for outer border.
The Book will also have these measurements. If you would like we could meet to pick fabric out if you might need help. Just email me and we can set up a time.
This class will be an all day class starting at 10 am and finishing up hopefully when top is complete. It can be done. You will come with your strips already cut and ready to be sewn. You will also need to make you fabric quide placement cheat sheet. This is very helpful as the day goes on and your eyes straining.
The cutting is as follows: You need to cut three 4″ strips from each of your 9 fabrics. Out of the corner of each fabric that is left over cut your piece that is needed for your cheat sheet.
This class should be great fun. I will also be providing dinner. It will consist of Lasagna, salad and garlic bread. Sweet tea will be provided also along with desert. You will need to bring a lunch or snack to help fight off the hunger pains around noon or sew. We will eat about 5 pm.
There will also be door prizes given throughout the day. Hope you all can make this class because it should be a lot of fun.

Back again by popular demand: This wallet always turns heads. Everywhere I go and take it out to use it someone is asking me if I made it or if it is a Vera Bradley. I love it when I tell them that I made it. Their facial expressions are priceless.
Supplies needed: You will need a 1/2 yard of three different coordinating fabrics. One 9″ zipper to match, one 3/4″ magnetic closure, cotton batting or *soft and stable, one yard woven fusible interfacing, coordinating thread, and one decorative button. Please bring the usual sewing supplies and a walking foot is imperative.
*Soft and Stable is a wonderful product that replaces batting. Where you would have used batting you would instead use Soft and Stable. Some quilt shops carry it or you can get it online. I love the durability of it. I have used in both the wallet and some of the purses I have recently made and it is much more sturdier that batting. Gives a more professional look to your finished product.
